Adult ADHD Testing

Are you an adult looking for a brief ADHD screen without having to wait several months (or even over a year) for a full neuropsychological evaluation?

If you’ve answered “yes”, we may be able to help.

The purpose of this screening is to provide adults with a relatively quick screening for ADHD symptoms (2-3 hours) without having to wait for several months to participate in a full neuropsychological evaluation (typically 4-7 hours).  The screening consists of a Clinical Interview, psychological questionnaires, rating scales, and brief cognitive tests.  After the evaluation is completed, a feedback session with recommendations is provided by Dr. Amy Palmer, and a brief 1-2 page report is provided.

Our ADHD evaluations provide a quick turnaround so you can get the help you need more quickly

Our brief ADHD evaluations are a great option for some adults, but not everyone will be appropriate for this screening.  Below are some important considerations:

  • This screening does not evaluate for other conditions, such as autism spectrum disorders, brain injury, and dementia.
  • This screening is not appropriate for individuals who have medical conditions which can impact cognition.  Some examples include: a history of multiple concussions, active thyroid problems, untreated sleep apnea, and long COVID.
  • Only a screening for psychological problems will be conducted.  This evaluation is not a full neuropsychological or psychological evaluation.
  • There is no guarantee that you will be diagnosed with ADHD.
  • After the ADHD screening, there is the possibility that a full neuropsychological evaluation will be recommended, and you will be given some providers to contact for this service.

Insurance Coverage

At the Center for NeuroPotential, Dr. Palmer is in-network with Husky. Individuals with other insurances will need to self-pay for the evaluation.  We can provide you with paperwork to submit to other insurances to help you access your out-of-network benefits. We recommend that you call your insurance company to learn about your coverage.

Please be aware that some insurance companies do not consider neuropsychological testing for ADHD to be medically necessary, and therefore may not cover the evaluation.
