Help for COVID Long Haul Symptoms

COVID-virus

The Center for NeuroPotential provides help for COVID long haul symptoms through our expert assessment and treatment  of psychological and cognitive symptoms.  Research has found that those who had COVID may develop symptoms long after the initial recovery period.  These symptoms include:

  • Brain Fog and other Cognitive Problems
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • PTSD
  • Insomnia/Sleep Disturbance
  • Headaches
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviors

If you or a loved one have been struggling with any of these COVID-19 long haul symptoms, the Center for NeuroPotential can help.

Neuropsychological Evaluations for COVID-19 Long Haul Symptoms

Some individuals with COVID-19 long haul symptoms report changes in the way their brain works.  Complaints can include forgetfulness, inattention, word finding problems, slowed thinking, and overall “brain fog”.

neuropsychological evaluation can objectively assess your cognitive functioning, including attention, short-term memory, and processing speed.  This assessment can provide treatment recommendations as well as track change over time.  Dr. Palmer is able to conduct these evaluations for individuals 18 and older, and is in-network with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Husky.

Neurofeedback for COVID-19 Long Haul Symptoms

Neurofeedback trains the brain to work in a more calm and effective way.  Our QEEG brain maps find the brain wave patterns that are contributing to symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and “brain fog”.  For example, a person with poor attention may be producing too much of theta, a more sluggish brainwave and not enough of beta, a faster brainwave.  Once the brain wave patterns are found that are related to a person’s symptoms, the individual does a series of neurofeedback sessions that train the brain to produce a more effective pattern of brainwaves.

As of now, the only insurance company covering Neurofeedback is Husky, although they do not cover the QEEG brain maps.

Counseling for COVID-19 Long Haul Symptoms

Counseling, also called talk therapy or psychotherapy, can also be a key component of treatment .  Our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities, including: cognitive-behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulnessEMDRbrainspotting, trauma-focused therapy, biofeedback and play therapy.  With counseling, the person can learn techniques to calm their body and their mind, allowing them to better focus.

We are accepting new Husky and self-pay clients for counseling services.
